Autism Intake Form

As a passionate scholar-practitioner with a lifelong dedication to research, I found my calling working with children with ADHD and Autism. A STEM enthusiast with a love for math, blogging, social media, technology, yoga, and dogs, I have dedicated my career to empowering learners of all ages with diverse challenges.

My professional journey began as an Associate Clinic Director at Lindamood-Bell, where I honed my expertise in instructional integrity for reading and math interventions, earning recognition as their “Star Trainer.” Inspired by my parents’ teaching legacy and encouraged by a dyslexic student, I embraced my passion for education, becoming a catechist and 4th-grade coordinator at Mother Seton Parish. This experience ignited my desire to work with diverse student populations, leading me to pursue graduate studies in special education, psychology, online teaching, distance education, technology, e-commerce, and instructional design.

My career as a special educator allowed me to make a meaningful impact on the lives of tweens and teens with disabilities in various educational settings. I developed and implemented IEPs and 504 Plans, fostering strong relationships with parents and celebrating each child’s unique gifts. Extending my commitment beyond the classroom, I served as an After-School Activity Coordinator and later as an academic therapist, specializing in adolescents and young adults with ADHD and Autism.

Throughout my career, I have actively contributed to professional organizations, including the Washington DC Chapter of the National Writers Union and the International Reading Association. I have also shared my expertise as an instructor for DC Web Women’s “Girls Rock the Web” and “Take Our Kids to the Web” programs.

In my retirement, I am dedicated to sharing my stories, insights, and practical tips on navigating the challenges and celebrating the triumphs of individuals with ADHD and Autism. My blog serves as a platform for answering questions and fostering understanding, empowering others to create positive change.
